The writing part includes the nib, feed, and ink guide tube, and these parts are prone to ink accumulation or oxidation. The cleaning method is to soak in cleaning solution for 10 minutes, rinse with water, and then use an ultrasonic cleaner or a dust blower for further cleaning. If there is surface oxidation, it can be wiped with a very fine polishing paste and glasses cloth.
The ink storage part has different structures and cleaning methods according to different inking methods. The common inking methods include ink filler, ink sac, push type, piston type, negative pressure type, etc. Generally speaking, the detachable parts can be washed directly with clean water, and the non-removable parts can be repeatedly inhaled and rinsed with clean water with a blower or syringe. Pay attention to apply silicone oil for lubrication and sealing when putting it back.
Be careful not to use alcohol or other organic solvents when cleaning pens, as they can damage celluloid or acrylic pens. Also be careful not to use excessive force to disassemble or pull out the nib, so as not to cause cracking or deformation.
After cleaning the pen, dry it with a clean rag, and then place it in a ventilated place to dry. Do not use a hair dryer or hot water to speed up drying, as this may cause deformation or cracking.
